SUMMARY:Awaken from the Impact of Trauma into the Peaceful Nature of Right Now
DESCRIPTION:A Gentle and Safe Approach to Healing Trauma\nAwaken from the Impact of Trauma into the Peaceful Nature of Right Now is a 6 week online course created by trauma therapist\, OI Certified Coach and experienced Nervous System Practitioner Candace Kirby. \nThere is no real blue print for how to navigate trauma and the resulting impact on the physiology except for the intelligence of our own system that knows how to heal and self-organize.  \nThe course material will help you understand and have compassion for the impact of trauma on your nervous systems. The practices are restorative; slow\, simple and repetitive which the nervous system needs to settle and relax into her nature of gentle presence and flow.  The safe container of the group will offer consistent support\, compassionate presencing and attunement for your nervous system. \n\n“Candace helped me re-learn how to tap into my five senses and notice all of the resources that are here to support me. She has helped me to untie some of the knots of my conditioned self that have kept me pushing\, forcing\, controlling and efforting my way through life. I can now see that through tenderness\, gentleness\, and non-effort I can feel into the pace of my own Soul.”  ~  Group Participant \n\nI hope you’ll join us.   \nThis course will help you:\n\nUnderstand the impact of past and present trauma on the physiology and why we suffer\nGentle and consistent care for your nervous system\nPause slow down\, rest and find ease in the present moment with the support of the group and consistent guided practices\nNotice that the present moment environment is consistently offering support.\nAlign with what is helpful and supportive and let go of what isn’t\nBuild capacity to be here by first building a foundation of safety\, stability and unconditional acceptance\nShift through the repetition of slow and nourishing new practices\nFeel safe in the company of others. Perhaps for the first time\nLearn to trust that the Love you long for is already and always here and that you are not separate from that Love\nKnow yourself as you really are\n\n\n“You do not have to walk on your kneesfor a hundred miles through the desert repenting. You only have to let the soft animal of your bodylove what it loves.” ~ Mary Oliver – Wild Geese \n\nIn this course we will engage in teachings\, simple present moment practices; meditation\, grounding\, orientation and creative practices followed by questions and dialogue. \nThis is a slow and gentle process. \n\n“I am so deeply grateful to have found these practices. I wish they had an icon for jumping up and down and clapping your hands. Maybe doing cartwheels. Thank you\, Candace\, for this simple\, gentle way of feeling safe in my own skin.” ~  Group Participant \n\nRegistration includes:\n\nAccess to all 6 live classes.\nAll class audio recordings.\nWeekly homework practices and primings for upcoming topics.\n\n\nPayment plans available\nTo arrange e-transfer payment for CDN participants email candace@candacekirby.ca

SUMMARY:Free Online Orientation Practice: An Anchor into the Present Moment
DESCRIPTION:In order to stabilize and support our physiology as we heal from trauma or chronic stress we must find our sense of ground in the present moment. A solid anchor that allows our physiology to recognize safety and support here in the present moment. \nOrientation is a simple and slow neurosensory practice of connecting to the present moment through the senses. It helps to restore a sense of safety\, stability and support to the physiology. \nWe don’t want to be pushed in all directions by the media\, our own minds and the collective surges of overwhelm. Those of us who aren’t in the epicentre of a crisis we need to hold our ground. To be present. To be connected to our source of courage\, love and wisdom. To sit or stand upright in our solidarity with truth and all that is meaningful\, good and sound in this world. We need to hold onto the intention to always speak and act from a place of greater wisdom and unconditional love. \nWe are not in control of what is happening in the world but perhaps in our willingness to stop and allow our systems to rest we can offer that rest to those around us. We can be a small island of calm in a very turbulent ocean. \nHaving a practice is no longer a luxury. Having a practice that connects us to the heart and soul of each moment is essential if we are ever going to restore a state of equilibrium in ourselves and our collective humanity. \nPractice brings us back here\, home\, where we can align our internal compass with peace\, unconditional love and eternal wisdom. \nYou are invited to join me and a small group of participants for this free event. \n\n“I am so deeply grateful to have found these practices. I wish they had an icon for jumping up and down and clapping your hands. Maybe doing cartwheels.Thank you\, Candace\, for these simple\, gentle way of feeling safe in my own skin.” ~ Participant \n\n \n \n \n \n \n Free Online Guided Orientation\nREGISTER HERE\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Email Address\n \n \n \n \n \n \n First Name\n \n \n \n \n \n \n Last Name\n \n \n \n \n \n \n Message\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n 13 + 4 = \n \n \n Send Message

SUMMARY:The Unadorned Beauty of Being Here (Day 3 of 3)
DESCRIPTION:Meetings with Candace in the Sanctuary are an invitation to rest and join with others in a safe and sacred space. \nCandace will guide the group in gentle practices and dialogue that invite resting into the present moment where we will practice listening gently to what is arising here both inside and outside. \nBringing attention to what’s happening outside is a way to support and connect with what’s happening inside even though there really is no difference. No inside. No outside. Everything is appearing in the same open field of awareness. \nThe sound of birdsong; clenched jaw; a gentle breeze; sunlight coming in through the window; the sound of the dishwasher; cool air; flickering candle light; tension; the crunch of gravel; physical pain; tears; the far off sound of traffic; busy mind; body softening. \nEverything is waiting for us here. \n\n“It was what I was born for – to look\, to listen\, to lose myselfinside this soft world.”~ Mary Oliver \n\n(Event sessions will be recorded and available to all participants)

SUMMARY:The Great Mother
DESCRIPTION:Held in the warm embrace of the Great Mother – Healing the Mother Wound\nMany of us were not raised with the kind of tender and loving support we needed when we were children. We didn’t have a fierce and loyal protector or a safe and reassuring lap to crawl into when we were scared. This created\, what I call\, a wound of absence in our physiology. A soul wound. A gnawing emptiness that seeks to be filled. It is the birthplace of addiction\, self-loathing\, unhealthy relationships and alienation from ourself and each other. \nIn the words of Gabor Mate: In the Realm of Hungry Ghosts; “From the latin word vulnerare\, ‘to wound’\, vulnerability is our susceptibility to be wounded. This fragility is part of our nature and cannot be escaped. The best the brain can do is to shut down conscious awareness of it when pain becomes so vast or unbearable that it threatens to overwhelm our capacity to function. \nWhen we flee our vulnerability\, we lose our full capacity for feeling emotion. We may even become emotional amnesiacs\, not remembering ever having felt truly elated or truly sad. A nagging void opens\, and we experience it as alienation\, as profound as ennui\, as the sense of deficient emptiness.” \nThe Great Mother is the Archetype of unconditional loving and tender compassion. An immense warmth and welcoming rooted firmly in the present moment. She opens her arms and invites us into her robust lap of comfort and gentle reassurance. She soothes the places inside that are worn and weary. She is never more than a whisper away. \n\nWe are born of love; Love is our mother.~ Rumi \n\nJoin Candace Kirby and Jessica Holland for a 3 week event as we weave stories and gentle practices around the healing presence of The Great Mother Archetype followed by questions and dialogue with the participants. \nJessica HollandInspired by fairytales and myth\, a storyteller at heart.Rooted in animism\, nature\, cyclical and seasonal living.Herbalist\, pattern breaker and student of the nervous system. \nCandace KirbyThe gentle heart of a poet\, counsellor and spiritual mentor. Candace specializes in working with trauma\, the nervous system and the role of trauma in spiritual awakening.
