SUMMARY:Healing Trauma and Restoring Capacity in the Nervous System
DESCRIPTION:The Role of the Nervous System in Spiritual Awakening.\nFrom Separation to Union in Presence\nHealing Trauma and Restoring Capacity in the Nervous System is an 8 week online course created by Trauma Therapist\, Spiritual Mentor\, OI Certified Coach and experienced Nervous System Practitioner Candace Kirby. \nThere is no real blue print for how to navigate trauma and the resulting impact on the physiology except for the intelligence of our own system that knows how to heal and self-organize. \nThe course material will help you understand and have compassion for the impact of trauma on your nervous systems. The practices are restorative; slow\, simple and repetitive which the nervous system needs to settle and relax into her nature of gentle presence and flow. The safe container of the group will offer consistent support\, compassionate presencing and attunement for your nervous system. \n\n “Candace helped me re-learn how to tap into my five senses and notice all of the resources that are here to support me. She has helped me to untie some of the knots of my conditioned self that have kept me pushing\, forcing\, controlling and efforting my way through life. I can now see that through tenderness\, gentleness\, and non-effort I can feel into the pace of my own Soul.”~ Group Participant \n\nI hope you’ll join us. \nThis course will help you:\n\nUnderstand the impact of past and present trauma on the physiology and why we suffer\nLearn to provide gentle and consistent care for your nervous system\nPause slow down\, rest and find ease in the present moment with the support of the group and consistent guided practices\nNotice that the present moment is consistently offering support.\nAlign with what is helpful and supportive and let go of what isn’t\nBuild capacity to be here by first building a foundation of safety\, stability and unconditional acceptance\nShift through the repetition of slow and nourishing new practices\nFeel safe in the company of others. Perhaps for the first time\nLearn to trust that the Love you long for is already and always here and that you are not separate from that Love\nKnow yourself as you really are\n\n\n“You do not have to walk on your knees for a hundred miles through the desert repenting. You only have to let the soft animal of your body love what it loves.”~ Mary Oliver – Wild Geese \n\nIn this course we will engage in teachings\, simple present moment practices; meditation\, grounding\, orientation and creative practices followed by questions and dialogue. \nThis is a slow and gentle process. \n\n“I am so deeply grateful to have found these practices. I wish they had an icon for jumping up and down and clapping your hands. Maybe doing cartwheels. Thank you\, Candace\, for this simple\, gentle way of feeling safe in my own skin.”~ Group Participant \n\nRegistration includes: \n\nAccess to all 8 live classes.\nAll class audio recordings.\nWeekly homework practices and primings for upcoming topics.\n\nTo arrange e-transfer payment for CDN participants email candace@candacekirby.ca. \nAll of my rates are in CDN dollars.  If cost is a barrier please message me.  I am happy to accommodate by sliding scale or arranging a payment plan.

SUMMARY:Free Online Weekly Gathering: A Resting Place
DESCRIPTION:Come rest.\nEach week we will cover a new topic related to trauma\, the nervous system and awakening to our nature of ease. \nIn order to stabilize and support our physiology as we heal from trauma or chronic stress we must find our sense of ground in the present moment. A solid anchor that allows our physiology to recognize safety and support here in the present moment. \nThe practices I teach are a simple and slow way of connecting to the present moment through the senses. They will help to restore a sense of safety\, stability and support to the physiology. \nWe don’t want to be pushed in all directions by the media\, our own minds and the collective surges of overwhelm. Those of us who aren’t in the epicentre of a crisis we need to hold our ground. To be present. To be connected to our source of courage\, love and wisdom. To sit or stand upright in our solidarity with truth and all that is meaningful\, good and sound in this world. We need to hold onto the intention to always speak and act from a place of greater wisdom and unconditional love. \nWe are not in control of what is happening in the world but perhaps in our willingness to stop and allow our systems to rest we can offer that rest to those around us. We can be a small island of calm in a very turbulent ocean. \nHaving a practice is no longer a luxury. Having a practice that connects us to the heart and soul of each moment is essential if we are ever going to restore a state of equilibrium in ourselves and our collective humanity. \nPractice brings us back here\, home\, where we can align our internal compass with peace\, unconditional love and eternal wisdom. \nThe safe container of the group will offer rest\, consistent support\, compassionate presencing and attunement for your nervous system. \nYou are invited to join me for this free online weekly event. \n \n \n \n \n \n Free Online Weekly Gathering\nREGISTER HERE TO RECEIVE THE ZOOM LINK\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Email Address\n \n \n \n \n \n \n First Name\n \n \n \n \n \n \n Last Name\n \n \n \n \n \n \n Message\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n 5 + 14 = \n \n \n Submit

\n \n \n \n \n \n Free Online Weekly Gathering\nREGISTER HERE TO RECEIVE THE ZOOM LINK\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Email Address\n \n \n \n \n \n \n First Name\n \n \n \n \n \n \n Last Name\n \n \n \n \n \n \n Message\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n 13 + 8 = \n \n \n Submit

SUMMARY:Monthly Event: Welcoming Everything
DESCRIPTION:Our true nature of Presence is receptive and welcomes everything into herself. In this session we will learn to orient ourselves towards receptivity rather than resistance. Humans are the only ones who have the capacity to be here and not be here at the same time. We will practice welcoming ourselves and each other here. What we reject and suppress never really goes away and it take enormous energy to hold it at bay. \nIn this session I will talk about the importance of building capacity in the nervous system for healing past trauma and why it is counterintuitive to just dive in and feel all our feelings. I will introduce my next 6 week course\, Safety and Sovereignty in the Body\, where we will have more time to immerse ourselves in all of these teachings.

SUMMARY:Safety\, Belonging and Being Here
DESCRIPTION:3 hr. Online Intensive Retreat\n\nWhen we gather in a safe and compassionate space we are building capacity in the nervous system for the tenderness of the human heart. Yes….it can hurt a lot to be a human being. ♡\n \nThe experience of safety and belonging lives in the body. Because safety and belonging are essential for survival we seek them at great cost to ourselves. When we were little we dissociated from our bodies when our needs weren’t met. Seeking is an innocent attempt to reestablish safety and belonging that repeats itself over and over again.  All too often we are unsuccessful.\n\n\n \n\n\n\n“When you are excluded or rejected\, your life inevitably tends to narrow into a concern and sometimes an obsession with that exclusion and the attempt to change that.” ~ John O’Donohue\n\n \n\n\nThe body doesn’t care about approval or popularity but It does care about safety and belonging.  The safe container of the group and the practices I teach are oriented towards the restoration of safety and belonging at a deep and felt sense of knowing in the body.\n \n\n\n\n“Our bodies know that they belong; it is our minds that make our lives so homeless.” ~ John O’Donohue\n\n\nWhether you are new to these kind of practices or a seasoned practitioner you are welcome to join us. The practices are simple and direct and the shared space is safe\, warm and welcoming. \n“Candace embodies gentleness\, warmth and sincerity that invites settling and deep rest. The nurturing slowness and softness of her voice communicates\, “it’s safe here. \nHer particular focus on the role of the nervous system in healing trauma and spiritual awakening allows her students to meet the past as it arises in the unconditional body of right now.” \nCandace will guide the group in gentle neurosensory (nervous system) practices and engage in dialogue and questions with participants. \n\n“Thank you for guiding us. Your guidance is like a lantern in the dark woods.” \nI am so grateful that even though you play the role of a teacher you are always a person first. I love and appreciate that about you! ~ Participant \n\nI look forward to welcoming you into this safe and sacred space. \nLove\, Candace

SUMMARY:Monthly Event: Gentling the Nervous System
DESCRIPTION:Gentleness is a quality of our true nature. The practice of gentling the nervous system is designed to soothe and settle our physiology. As our system relaxes we become a gentle presence to others as well. “You’re safe with me.” Gentling creates space in the body. \n\nForce and pressure hardens and contracts while gentling softens and opens. \n\nIn this session I will talk about the quality of gentleness and the practice of gentling the nervous system.  I will guide the group through a gentle healing touch practice. “A bubble of safety and support” is how one participant described this practice. \nWhether you are new to these kind of practices or a seasoned practitioner you are welcome to join us. The practices are simple and direct and the shared space is safe\, warm and welcoming.

SUMMARY:Monthly Event: Reactivity
DESCRIPTION:I also call reactivity the arising past. What is wounded in us is easily triggered. When those tender places inside get reactivated it’s hard to discern between the past and the present. It’s from this place that we create the most difficulty for ourselves and our relationships. We lash out or we turn inward on ourselves. The biggest gift that we can give to ourselves\, each other and the planet is to heal our past. When we heal our past we are much less likely to hurt ourselves and each other. \nIn this session I will teach about reactivity (the arising past) and help you to discern between past and present. I will lead the group in a compassion practice of meeting reactivity with love and understanding rather than shame and self-judgement. \nWhether you are new to these kind of practices or a seasoned practitioner you are welcome to join us. The practices are simple and direct and the shared space is safe\, warm and welcoming.

SUMMARY:Monthly Event: Finding our Ground
DESCRIPTION:The nature of gravity anchors us to the present moment. Without a felt sense of being anchored into the present moment we can easily lose our balance. Most of us live with our attention focused above the shoulders\, away from the body and away from the present moment. The restoration of trust and safety includes a solid and stable anchor into the present moment. \nFinding our ground supports us in coming to know the strength and integrity of our own nature. When we feel burdened we can allow ourselves to feel the ground supporting the weight of those burdens. We can rest and let those burdens down. We can let them go into the ground. \nIn this session I will lead the group through a grounding practice and talk about why we get disconnected and the benefits of being grounded. \nWhether you are new to these kind of practices or a seasoned practitioner you are welcome to join us. The practices are simple and direct and the shared space is safe\, warm and welcoming.

SUMMARY:Outrageous Devotion
DESCRIPTION:Sessions with Candace are an invitation to pause and join with others in a safe\, slow and sacred space. \n\n“Candace embodies gentleness\, warmth and sincerity that invites settling and deep rest. The nurturing slowness and softness of her voice communicates\, it’s safe here. \nHer particular focus on the role of the nervous system in healing trauma and spiritual awakening allows her students to meet the past as it arises in the unconditional body of right now.” \n\nIt requires outrageous devotion and a heroic heart to be devoted to what is happening instead of reaching for what isn’t happening\, especially when what is happening is difficult and overwhelming. In the midst of turmoil can we say\, “I choose to be here” over and over again.Candace will guide the group in gentle neurosensory (nervous system) practices and engage in dialogue and questions with participants. \n\n“Thank you for guiding us. Your guidance is like a lantern in the dark woods. I am so grateful that even though you play the role of a teacher you are always a person first. I love and appreciate that about you! ~ Participant \n\nI look forward to welcoming you into this safe and sacred space.

SUMMARY:Monthly Event: Orientation
DESCRIPTION:Orientation means connecting to the present moment through our senses. The orienting impulse happens naturally when our nervous system is well regulated. If you watch animals you will notice that they are always orienting. Looking\, listening\, sensing\, smelling etc. Their survival depends on knowing where they are and assessing if there is any threat. \nWhen we have experienced trauma or chronic stress we disconnect from this natural orienting impulse and we become hyper-vigilant and fixated on danger signals from the body. The body may be sending cues of danger that have absolutely no relevance to the present moment. We are unable to discern the past from the present. This contributes to an overall sense of being unsafe. Orientation is a restoration of safety. \nThe practice of orientation is one of the most effective ways of stabilizing the nervous system in relationship to the present moment. I will guide the group in an orientation practice and there will be time for questions. \nWhether you are new to these kind of practices or a seasoned practitioner you are welcome to join us. The practices are simple and direct and the shared space is safe\, warm and welcoming.

SUMMARY:The Sacred Simplicity of Right Now
DESCRIPTION:The Sacred Simplicity of Right Now is a 2-session online event. \nSessions with Candace are an invitation to pause and join with others in a safe\, slow and sacred space. We come together to increase our sense of ease and connection to the present moment. \n\n“Candace embodies gentleness\, warmth and sincerity that invites settling and deep rest. The nurturing slowness and softness of her voice communicates\, it’s safe here. \nHer particular focus on the role of the nervous system in healing trauma and spiritual awakening allows her students to meet the past as it arises in the unconditional body of right now.” \n\nWhat makes a moment sacred is that we’re here for it: The first signs of Spring; a love song playing in the background; a candle flickering on the mantle; the warmth and taste of a cup of tea; the weight of our body in the seat; tears; trees that invite us to rest in their shade; emotions that ask to be felt. \nWhen we are full of undigested trauma from the past\, the peace\, love and beauty that we long for seems out of reach and yet it’s always right here.  We honour the body as the holder of everything we have suffered and support her in releasing the burden of the unresolved past. \nCandace will teach about the importance of understanding the impact of trauma; resources and the right conditions for healing; guide the group in gentle neurosensory (nervous system) practices and engage in dialogue and questions with participants. \n\n“Thank you for guiding us.
