SUMMARY:A Simple and Safe Morning Practice
DESCRIPTION:A Simple and Safe Morning Practice for the Sensitive or Traumatized Physiology\nAn online event with Candace Kirby\nJoin Candace and a small group of friends for this opportunity to learn and practice a simple and safe meditation and attunement practice. \nThis is a practice I have developed over the last couple of years as a support to trauma-healing. The goal of my work is to keep people safe and attuned to their nervous system in practice. \nTogether we will go over the steps and gain some familiarity with them as we settle into a practice together. \nI will provide all the participants with the steps to develop a practice on their own following the event. \n\n“Nobody chooses to experience trauma. Whether it’s a natural disaster\, a devastating accident\, or an act of interpersonal violence\, trauma often leaves people feeling violated and absent a sense of control. Because of this\, it’s vital that survivors feel a sense of choice and autonomy in their mindfulness practice. We want them to know that in every moment of practice\, they are in control. Nothing will be forced upon them. They can move at a pace that works for them\, and they can always opt out of any practice. By emphasizing self-responsiveness\, we help put power back in the hands of survivors. The body is central to this process. Survivors need to know they won’t be asked to override signals from their body\, but to listen to them—one way they’ll learn to stay in their window of tolerance.” ~ David A. Treleaven \n\nTo e-transfer payment for CDN participants – candacekirby@shaw.ca \nIf cost is a barrier please message me.  I am happy to accommodate.

SUMMARY:Immersed in Love
DESCRIPTION:Trauma Safe Practices\nHave you ever wondered about the true nature of Presence (Love) and why it can seem so elusive or even non existent. Are you frustrated with seeking and trying to figure it all out? During this event I will talk about the reasons that Love can seem so far away when in fact we are immersed in it. We are it. I know you’ve heard these words before but come and join me as I point to what you’ve been seeking in a very simple and embodied way. \n\n“Candace embodies gentleness\, warmth and sincerity that invites settling and deep rest. The nurturing slowness and softness of her voice communicates\, “it’s safe here. Her particular focus on the role of the nervous system in healing trauma and spiritual awakening allows her students to meet the past slowly and safely as it arises in the unconditional body of right now.” \n\nCandace will guide the group in gentle neurosensory (nervous system) practices and engage in dialogue and questions with participants. \n\n“Thank you for guiding us. Your guidance is like a lantern in the dark woods.I am so grateful that even though you play the role of a teacher you are always a person first. I love and appreciate that about you! ~ Participant \n\nI look forward to welcoming you into this safe and compassionate space. \nTo arrange e-transfer payment for CDN participants email candace@candacekirby.ca.

SUMMARY:Afraid to Stop: The Momentum of the Separate Self
DESCRIPTION:Trauma Informed\nThe momentum of the survival self is fueled by the activation of the Fight/Flight/Freeze survival mechanism in the nervous system. If you have experienced trauma or chronic stress it may seem impossible to stop and settle into the moment. There is no point in putting pressure on a system that is already under pressure. During this event I will be teaching you some slow and simple practices that will support your system to slow down and come to rest. \n\n“Candace embodies gentleness\, warmth and sincerity that invites settling and deep rest.
