SUMMARY:Resting & Releasing the Past
DESCRIPTION:Trauma-safe and nervous system-informed practices\n A 3 session online event.\nTopics:\n\nOpening to Grace\nYou are not alone.\nLearning to trust.\n\nMeetings with Candace are an invitation to rest and join with others in a safe and compassionate space.\nCandace will guide the group in gentle practices and dialogue that invite resting into the present moment where we will practice listening gently to what is arising here both inside and outside. \nBringing attention to what’s happening outside is a way to resource and attune to what’s happening inside. With practice it starts to become clear that everything is appearing in the same open field of awareness. \nThe undigested impact of trauma (past) arises in present moment awareness in the same way as the sound of birdsong; a gentle breeze; sunlight coming in through the window; the sound of the dishwasher; cool air; flickering candle light; tension; the crunch of gravel; physical pain; tears; the far off sound of traffic; busy mind; body softening; body contracting. \nBuilding capacity to meet our undigested trauma (past) is a practice in restoring safety; understanding; self compassion; gentleness; patience; listening; courage and embodiment. \nA path of love\, illumination and restoration for all that has been denied\, suppressed and held in the body. \n\n“Your sanctuary is a balm for my whole being.”~ Julie P \n\nIn this course we will engage in teachings\, simple present moment practices; meditation\, neurosensory practices\, grounding\, orientation and creative practices followed by questions and dialogue. \nThis is a slow and gentle process. \nRegistration includes:\n\nAccess to all 3 live classes.\nAll class audio recordings.\nWeekly homework practices and primings for upcoming topics.\n\nTo arrange e-transfer payment for CDN participants email candace@candacekirby.ca. \nIf cost is a barrier please message me.  I am happy to accommodate.

SUMMARY:Solid Ground. Soft Body. Sacred Moment
DESCRIPTION:Trauma Sensitive Spirituality\nArriving here in each moment we find safety and our connection to the ground so that our bodies can soften into each Sacred moment. We arrive over and over again until we are at rest here. \n\n“Candace embodies gentleness\, warmth and sincerity that invites settling and deep rest. The nurturing slowness and softness of her voice communicates\, “it’s safe here. Her particular focus on the role of the nervous system in healing trauma and spiritual awakening allows her students to meet the past slowly and safely as it arises in the unconditional body of right now.” \n\nCandace will guide the group in gentle neurosensory (nervous system) practices and engage in dialogue and questions with participants. \n\n“Thank you for guiding us. Your guidance is like a lantern in the dark woods.I am so grateful that even though you play the role of a teacher you are always a person first. I love and appreciate that about you! ~ Participant \n\nI look forward to welcoming you into this safe and sacred space. \nTo arrange e-transfer payment for CDN participants email candace@candacekirby.ca.

SUMMARY:Waves of the Past
DESCRIPTION:Waves of the Past is a 3 session online event facilitated by Candace Kirby; experienced Nervous System Practitioner\, Trauma Therapist and Spiritual Mentor. \n\n“There is nothing that is a true barrier to love. Every time I lose myself in the waves of the past I find myself here again\, held and reassured by this quiet immensity of loving awareness. I am soothed in her presence. I give way to love\, tears and knowing that this moment is my true home.” ~ Candace \n\nThe lap of the beloved is right here where you are. Come rest.  Our true nature is always quietly present even when we are overwhelmed by our life experiences. \nJoin Candace and a small group of friends as we come to understand the role of the nervous system in healing and spiritual awakening.  We will learn to create safety\, build capacity in the nervous system and trust in the present moment to meet the overwhelming impact of loss and trauma on our sensitive physiology. \nCandace will guide the group in simple present moment practices and engage in teachings\, meditation\, grounding and orientation followed by questions and dialogue. \nThis event is safe enough and slow enough for the sensitized physiology of those who have experienced trauma; chronic illness\, complex grief or the effects of Benzo withdrawal. \n\n“Working with Candace has been life changing for me. Her presence is like a soft\, cozy blanket wrapped around your shoulders. \nHer voice will soothe and soften your system and allow any stress\, strain and pressures to melt away. Before I met Candace I was meeting life with a tightly clenched fist. I was trying to control and force life to go my way so I could feel safe. \nAfter working with Candace she taught me how to find safety within myself which has given me the capacity to deal with all that life brings including the very real challenges and difficulties. \nWith her gentle support something within me shifted and my system started to soften\, and unfurl. I was able to meet life with an open hand and notice all the goodness and beauty that’s been here all along.” ~ Group Participant

SUMMARY:The Great Mother
DESCRIPTION:Held in the warm embrace of the Great Mother – Healing the Mother Wound\nMany of us were not raised with the kind of tender and loving support we needed when we were children. We didn’t have a fierce and loyal protector or a safe and reassuring lap to crawl into when we were scared. This created\, what I call\, a wound of absence in our physiology. A soul wound. A gnawing emptiness that seeks to be filled. It is the birthplace of addiction\, self-loathing\, unhealthy relationships and alienation from ourself and each other. \nIn the words of Gabor Mate: In the Realm of Hungry Ghosts; “From the latin word vulnerare\, ‘to wound’\, vulnerability is our susceptibility to be wounded. This fragility is part of our nature and cannot be escaped. The best the brain can do is to shut down conscious awareness of it when pain becomes so vast or unbearable that it threatens to overwhelm our capacity to function. \nWhen we flee our vulnerability\, we lose our full capacity for feeling emotion. We may even become emotional amnesiacs\, not remembering ever having felt truly elated or truly sad. A nagging void opens\, and we experience it as alienation\, as profound as ennui\, as the sense of deficient emptiness.” \nThe Great Mother is the Archetype of unconditional loving and tender compassion. An immense warmth and welcoming rooted firmly in the present moment. She opens her arms and invites us into her robust lap of comfort and gentle reassurance. She soothes the places inside that are worn and weary. She is never more than a whisper away. \n\nWe are born of love; Love is our mother.~ Rumi \n\nJoin Candace Kirby and Jessica Holland for a 3 week event as we weave stories and gentle practices around the healing presence of The Great Mother Archetype followed by questions and dialogue with the participants. \nJessica HollandInspired by fairytales and myth\, a storyteller at heart.Rooted in animism\, nature\, cyclical and seasonal living.Herbalist\, pattern breaker and student of the nervous system. \nCandace KirbyThe gentle heart of a poet\, counsellor and spiritual mentor. Candace specializes in working with trauma\, the nervous system and the role of trauma in spiritual awakening.
