Frequently Asked

Are your services covered by MSP or other Insurance?

Counselling services are not covered by the provincial Medical Services Plan. ICBC may pay for sessions if you have been in a car accident. You may also be able to claim costs on your tax return. If you have coverage with an extended health care plan I am happy to refer you to one of my colleagues.

How and when do I make payment?

If you are purchasing a 3 or 6 session package, payment is required before sessions begin and if you are paying per session the fee for the session will be presented to you at the end of each session.

Payments can be made by cash, etransfer or Paypal.

How does confidentiality work?

Your sessions and our conversations are fully confidential as provided for by the professional code of ethics of Counsellors. That means the content of our discussions is not repeated outside of our meeting time. The only legal and ethical exceptions to confidentiality occur if you tell me you intend to hurt yourself or another, or present, active child neglect or abuse is suspected.

How many sessions does counselling take?

This is very individual but I do like to encourage clients to consider 3-6 sessions to begin. This could be every week or every two weeks depending on what is happening for you.

Can I talk to you about whether we would be a good fit to work together?

Candace is happy to provide a free 20 minute telephone or Zoom introduction to see if we are a good fit to work together.
